Information You Send
Search Queries
When a name, location, or other search term is entered into a third-party search tool, that query is sent to the provider that operates the tool. Colorado County Inmate Population does not store or maintain those search terms on its own servers.
Messages
If you send an email or other contact message, we may keep the message long enough to review it, respond, and maintain ordinary business records. We do not share contact messages outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement applies.
Automatic Site Data
Like most websites, this site may receive basic technical data when pages load. That data helps keep the site available and helps identify broken links or other performance issues.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- Referring page or site, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site use, support analytics, and help advertising or search partners measure activity. Most browsers let users block or delete cookies, but some features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Data Is Used
- To keep pages working and loading at a usable speed.
- To send search requests to the correct outside provider.
- To understand which Colorado County jail and records pages are useful.
- To find errors, abuse, or technical problems.
- To display advertising that may be based on general interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to sheriff pages, jail resources, clerk portals, TDCJ, BOP, ICE, Texas public-record statutes, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the privacy policy and data practices of the outside website control.
Advertising partners and analytics providers may use their own systems to measure visits or show interest-based ads across sites. Those activities are handled by the outside provider, not by a Colorado County government office.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal contact messages. Limited data may be received by service providers that help operate the site or by outside tools a visitor chooses to use.
- Search partners that process submitted search queries.
- Analytics services used to measure site performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies when required by subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process.
Security Practices
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect data handled through this site. No internet-connected site can be guaranteed breach-proof, and no security method can remove every risk.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal information, contact us so the request can be reviewed for deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the law that applies to your request, you may ask us to review data connected to your direct contact with the site.
- Ask for a copy of data we hold about you.
- Ask that incorrect contact information be corrected.
- Ask that direct contact data be deleted when retention is no longer needed.
- Opt out of certain processing where an opt-out right applies.
Public records from Texas agencies are controlled by the agency that holds them. Texas Government Code Chapter 552, the Texas Public Information Act, governs access to many government records, but it does not make this private site the custodian of sheriff, jail, clerk, or court files.
