This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, release anyone, post bond, add a visitor, pull official booking records, or speak for the Colorado County Sheriff's Office, jail, courts, or clerks.
Official Custody Contacts
For a current Colorado County Jail custody question, use the official jail and sheriff contacts. The research file did not locate a public online roster, so same-day custody and release questions should go to the jail rather than to a search box or court portal.

Main phone: 979-732-2388
Jail Division: 979-732-2388 x2

For written sheriff records requests, the published open-records contact is Eugenia Behrens at 979-732-2388 ext. 224. The sheriff's procedure says open-records requests must be written and cannot be made by phone. Requests may be submitted in person, by mail to 2215 Walnut St., Columbus, TX 78934, or by email to ccsorecords@co.colorado.tx.us.
The sheriff's open-records procedure lists a $6.00 base fee, payable by exact cash, money order, or cashier's check. No personal checks are accepted. The office has a 10-working-day window to fulfill the request or give written notice of a reasonable availability date. Flash drive and CD/DVD media fees may apply when records are delivered that way.
- For someone currently held at the county jail, start with jail inmate records and the Jail Division phone.
- For a booking photo, use jail roster mugshots and ask the sheriff records office in writing.
- For charges filed after booking, use court records after a jail arrest and the clerk portals.
- For a facility address or visitation schedule, use the Colorado County Jail page.
- For a sentenced Texas prisoner, use the Texas Department of Criminal Justice locator rather than the county jail.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP inmate locator or ICE detainee locator.
Court and Records Routing
Not every record is held by the jail. The Colorado County Clerk links criminal court searches to the Texas UCMS Public Access Portal, including Smart Search and Search Hearings. The District Clerk has public search terminals during regular business hours and publishes a $1.00 per page copy fee. Credit and debit cards are accepted for copies, court costs, and fines according to the District Clerk page.
Use the County Clerk or UCMS portal for filed criminal cases, hearings, judgments, and warrant filters. Use the District Clerk for district-court records that are not visible online, terminal access, certified copies, and expunction-related filing questions. Charges to obtain court copies should be checked with the County Clerk, UCMS portal, or District Clerk, because sheriff records fees do not control court-copy pricing.
The sheriff's own procedure also routes some arrest or incident records away from the sheriff. If an incident, accident, or arrest occurred inside Columbus, Eagle Lake, or Weimar city limits, or was handled by Texas DPS, the request may need to go to that city police department or DPS instead.
